Free · Built on Blender · Beta coming soon

The motion graphics workflow you know. Inside Blender.

Blenda 4D is a free fork of Blender plus an add-on that gives you a familiar layout, cloners, fields, deformers and splines, so switching to Blender feels like coming home.

The first beta is for Macs with Apple Silicon.

What's inside

Your muscle memory, Blender's power.

Everything works the way motion graphics artists expect, and it's still Blender underneath: Cycles, EEVEE, geometry nodes and your add-ons.

MoClone

Cloners, effectors and fields

Drop in a cloner, add an effector, shape it with a field. No node graph required. It all stays live and editable, the way you're used to working.

Bend, twist, taper and other deformers in Blenda 4D
Deformers

Bend, twist, taper and more

A full set of deformers that sit right in the object list. Nest them under an object and they just work, with handles you can grab in the viewport.

A spline extruded into a shape in Blenda 4D
Splines

Splines and generators

Draw a spline, drop it into an extrude, sweep or loft, and keep editing the curve. Procedural modeling the way you already think about it.

Your old work

Bring your old scenes with you

Open your existing .c4d scenes and keep working. Years of projects don't have to stay behind when you switch.

Still 100% BlenderOne click switches back to the standard Blender interface. Nothing is locked in, and your files are regular .blend files.
Free, like BlenderNo subscription, ever. Blenda 4D is built on Blender's open-source code and stays free.

Why I built it
I know firsthand how hard it is to change software in the middle of a career. Your hands know where everything is, and suddenly nothing is where you expect it.

FAQ

Questions

Is Blenda 4D free?

Yes. It's built on Blender, which is free and open source, and Blenda 4D will be free too.

What exactly is it?

Two parts working together: a fork of Blender with a few changes to the core, plus an add-on that provides the layout, managers, cloners, fields, deformers and generators. It runs alongside your regular Blender install.

Will my Blender add-ons still work?

That's the goal. Underneath, it's Blender, and you can switch to the standard interface at any time. Some add-ons may need small fixes, and the beta will help us find them.

Which computers are supported?

The first beta is for Macs with Apple Silicon. Tell us what you'd test on when you join the waitlist, and that will help decide what comes next.

When does the beta start?

Soon. Right now we're moving the project to Blender 5.3. Join the waitlist and you'll hear first.

Is this made by Maxon or the Blender Foundation?

No. Blenda 4D is an independent project by one artist. It isn't affiliated with or endorsed by either company.
